Prague City Center to the Airport

A very direct and convenient way to get to the airport is the Airport Express bus from Prague Main Railway Station.

Alternative: Metro and Bus

A cheaper option is to take Metro A from Muzeum station (a 7-minute walk from the main station) to Nádraží Veleslavín (12 minutes, 7 stops), then transfer to trolleybus 59 to the airport (15 minutes, 7 stops to Terminal 1). The total journey takes about 45 minutes and costs 50 CZK.

Bus Stop

The bus stop is located above the main entrance building of the train station, along a large street. The easiest way is to go inside the station and take the escalators up. There are clear signs showing the way to the airport bus.

Tickets

You can buy your ticket directly from the driver. Payment is possible by card The current price is around 200 CZK (as of June 2026).

Boarding

The bus usually arrives a few minutes before departure. Even though every passenger bought a ticket from the driver, boarding was quick and well organized.

Journey to the Airport

The buses are large and offer plenty of space for luggage. One big advantage is that the Airport Express goes directly to the airport without any stops.

The regular travel time is about 40 minutes. However, traffic in Prague can be heavy, so it’s best to allow extra time. In my case, the journey took 46 minutes.

Arrival

The bus stops first at Terminal 1 and then at Terminal 2. Overall, the Airport Express is a comfortable and stress-free way to reach the airport.
