From Warsaw West station (Warszawa Zachodnia), the train takes you to Chopin Airport in about 15 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes. For the way back, bus 175 takes you from the airport to the city centre without changing. At night, bus N32 takes over.

Warsaw West Station to Chopin Airport by train

Buy your ticket at the ticket machine at Warszawa Zachodnia. You need a 75-minute ticket for zone 1. It costs 4.40 złoty (PLN). Current fares: https://www.wtp.waw.pl/en/ticket-tariff/

Trains to the airport run every 30 minutes. Timetables: https://www.mazowieckie.com.pl/en

Inside the carriage, there is a small yellow machine next to the door. Validate your paper ticket there right after you get on. The trains are modern, clean and air-conditioned. There is no Wi-Fi and there are no power sockets.

At the airport, the station is underground. Just follow the yellow "Terminal" signs. An escalator takes you up to the upper floor of the terminal, where departures are.

All departure zones, from A to E, are in the same terminal and on one level. Zone E is the furthest from zone A. From zone E to the escalator, it is an easy 4-minute walk. The airport has free Wi-Fi.

Chopin Airport to Warsaw city centre

From the airport, you can get to the city centre by bus or by SKM suburban train. I took bus 175 because it goes straight to the centre without changing.

Right after the exit, you will find the desks for taxis and Uber, with the car rental desks next to them. Signs to the buses hang above the entrance doors. On the far right are the escalators and stairs down to the SKM.

By bus 175

Here too, a 75-minute ticket for zone 1 at 4.40 złoty is all you need. I bought mine right at the bus stop and paid by card. Where to buy tickets: https://www.wtp.waw.pl/en/where-to-buy-a-ticket/

After you get on, validate your paper ticket at the small yellow machine. Don't worry: the machine pulls the ticket all the way in, prints the expiry date on it and then gives it back.

Stops are also announced and displayed in English. Bus 175 is a normal city bus, so be careful with large or bulky luggage. There is no Wi-Fi on board.

I took the bus on a Monday afternoon, and there was a lot of traffic. The timetable says 32 minutes, but it took me 40 minutes.

At night: bus N32

At night, line N32 takes over. It runs every 30 minutes from midnight to 4 am to the city centre. The ticket machine is right at the bus stop. More about getting to and from the airport: https://warszawa19115.pl/en/-/how-to-get-to-the-airport-
