Fast and Cheap Ways to Get from Dresden Airport to the City Centre

The fastest and most convenient way to reach Dresden city centre from Dresden Airport is by S-Bahn (local train). The station is located directly beneath the airport terminal and can be reached within seconds via escalator or elevator.

Taking the S-Bahn

Travel Times

The S-Bahn operates daily from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Where to buy tickets:

You can purchase your ticket from the ticket machines located on the station platform. Before boarding, make sure to validate your ticket — the validation machines are positioned at the beginning of the platform.

Main Stops and Connections

The first major stop is Dresden-Neustadt, followed by Dresden-Mitte, and finally Dresden Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). At all three stations, you can easily transfer to trams and buses to reach your final destination anywhere in the city.

Alternative Public Transport Connection

If you prefer, you can also reach the city centre using a combination of bus and tram.

• Take Bus Line 77, which departs directly from Dresden Airport.
• Get off at “Dresden Infineon Nord 1”.
• Transfer to Tram Line 7 heading towards Albertplatz.
• From Albertplatz, you have easy access to multiple tram lines connecting to the city centre and surrounding neighborhoods.
